We are seeking a talented Global Curriculum & Instruction Lead, based in Europe, who is interested in leading curriculum design projects and in providing strategic thought partnership on curriculum & instruction topics for a portfolio of Generation countries. As a member of our global team, you will also build capacity in others by participating in the training of internal team members and external partners on curriculum and instruction topics, and you will contribute to strategic projects as needed to continuously innovative on our methodology. You also will drive the instructor support strategy for given countries and programs and work with Local Curriculum & Instruction Leads to ensure instructors are properly onboarded, supported, and delivering high-quality instruction. This role is suited for an experienced leader in training who is excited to be at the cutting-edge of workforce development and to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, global environment.

The role is remote, with preference to be based near an existing Generation office within Europe. The role requires significant travel (~30%, up to 1-2 weeks at a time), usually within the region, but potentially to include support to any Generation country.

Required experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably a master’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years instructional design experience, including multi-week programs, based on needs analysis and active, practice-based learning experiences
  • Mastery of adult learning principles and experience designing instructional materials for adult learners (>18 years of age)
  • Strong project management skills, managing many stakeholders and workflows on a tight timeline
  • Success building and managing collaborative relationships

Preferred experience:

  • Experience teaching and/or designing instructional content for students from low-income, diverse communities
  • Experience teaching young adults, 18-29 years old
  • Experience teaching and/or designing instructional materials for populations from different cultures
  • Experience designing blended learning experiences
  • Fluency in additional languages beyond English

A. Curriculum development (60%)

  • Lead the design or revision of curriculum using the Generation methodology for a wide variety of professions, geographic contexts, and learner types. Conduct or provide support to a Design Manager for the following activities: design performance goals, conceptualize program architecture, sequence modules and learning sessions
  • Ensure curriculum projects are executed on time, with the engagement of key internal and external stakeholders. Conduct and/or provide support to a Design Manager (junior team member) in the following activities: assemble a team of internal or contract designers and subject matter experts, develop a project timeline, and solicit / respond to feedback from key stakeholders
  • With the support of our Global Training team, ensure programs are designed with likely instructor profile in mind, and provide input into “train the trainer” experiences needed to ensure instructors are well-prepared

B. Curriculum & instruction strategy (20%)

  • Provide guidance and thought leadership to country-level leadership, business development personnel, and program launch/operations teams to: scope new projects, determine time and cost implications of program design, and identify potential improvements to curriculum based on instructor, student, and employer feedback
  • Join business and partnership development conversations at all stages, in order to represent the Generation methodology
  • Share best practices in curriculum & instruction across countries, including proposing creative ways to develop and deliver content in the country / region

C. Strategic projects and team management (10%) 

  • In collaboration with the Global Director of Curriculum, refine Generation’s curriculum design principles and curricular approach and explore new methodologies or formats (e.g., online learning)
  • Participate in global taskforces / special project teams to provide the curriculum & instruction perspective
  • Contribute to professional development of junior team members, either through creating and delivering training experiences and/or directly manage a junior team member(s)

D. Training and capacity development (10%)

  • Support the onboarding and training of country team members (e.g., Local Curriculum & Instruction Leads, business development personnel) to ensure they can represent Generation’s curriculum methodology and partner with the curriculum team effectively
  • Engage in trainings on instructor support as requested by the Global Training team
