1. Can you give us a few words about yourself?

Hard-working, athletic, simple, loyal, motivated, inspired, intentional learner and emotional. I thrive in an honest environment that is open to learning from each other.

2. What do you like most about working remotely?

I enjoy my short commute to work, flexible asynchronous workstyle, ability to have control over my work attire, and most importantly work towards a common goal as a team to get everyone closer towards success. Lastly, I enjoy changing my office setting with either a different coffee shop or local library.

3. Why did you decide to go remote?

I decided to go remote because I did not like wasting my time commuting to work everyday (listening to audiobooks did not help) and in the near future when I have a family and kids, I would like to spend more time with them with the time saved from the commute. Also, I do not mind being alone for the most part of the day and feel more focused with being remote (less office distractions).

4. How did you find your current role?

I was offered this position by a reference. He knew what technology stack I knew how to use and I simply got hired by reference.

5. What are your main skills?

Main skills include, front end development with web technologies such as react, react-native. I am also comfortable with object-oriented programming such as Java with android. I am currently learning how to use some back end technologies like Node.js, Graphql, and Prisma. As a remote Full Stack software developer, a skill that I am continuously improving and mastering is learning how to learn in the most efficient way possible. This might sound very meta but it is important as a software developer to stay up to date with the current industry trends. In short, learning is one of my main skills.

6. What kind of companies do you like to work for?

I like to work for companies that focus on their employees as assets rather than just a resource to squeeze profits out of. The company culture should be positive and inspiring by pursuing a common goal that we all truly believe in.
